Dirty Dogs Welcome Anytime!

Noone likes the smell of a dirty stale dog. I think Miao would prefer to stay that way sometimes, but I know deep down he loves all the scrubbing and undivided attention. So undivided Gracie always manages to overflow her tiny hand with a fountain of shampoo before I notice. Totally awesome.

Anyways, I'm telling you all of this because I just stumbled across Woody's Dog Wash & Pet Boutique located in South Park. Gracie and I made a visit to the shop on Tuesday to meet with the owner, Ann Cipriani. Inside they have 4 large bathtubs with trays for smaller dogs (and even cats)! All the cleaning agents are conveniently located above the tub and it works just like a car wash. Choose your cycle and start washing your way to a shiny clean dog! They even have brushes, rubber aprons and of course lots of absorbing towels on hand at each tub.

Stay tuned for more information. Ann and I are planning to put together a fabulous event :).

Woody's also carries lots of goodies. Treats are on the adjacent wall.

Meet Brutus

Perhaps the cutest little dog I've ever photographed. Key word: little! Miao is by no means little coming in at a whoppin 85 pounds, so he still takes 1st place in that category.

I put together a 22 page fine art dog album to showcase at the upcoming Paw Prints gala. These are two pages that I created showcasing Brutus. It's in production now...I can't WAIT to get my hands on it!

My Baby is 3

I can't believe I watched my baby blow out her 3rd Birthday candle this weekend. I'm so proud of her. She's an awesome kid with an amazing sense of humor and a huge heart. At the end of a long day of non-stop activity with her 3 cousins, we finally made our way down the hall to her bedroom. Crouching at her doorway to tell her goodnight she hugs me, leans back, looks me in the eyes and says "thank you for my birthday."

I love you GG.

Paw Prints Gala 2008

Just wanted to inform everyone in the Pittsburgh area of this upcoming event put on by the Animal Rescue League of PA. I will be there dressed to the 9's AND I have donated to the silent auction. Whoo hoo! The winner will receive a free session along with a mounted 16x20 print. Won't you come join me?

In 2007 the Paw Prints gala raised over $95,000 for the animals!! The ARL is an open door shelter accepting any animal at any time. They continue to save thousands of animals from abandonment, abuse, neglect or worse. I'm thrilled to be a part of this event and look forward to a wonderful evening of cocktails, music, conversation and panaromic views of Pittsburgh!

self portrait

I got my new camera in the mail last week but noone was around to take a photo of....but me! So here it is. Just wanted to share in my midst of editing photos tonight.

Taken with my new CANON 40D...oh how I love thee!

I decided this was easier...I'll try not to make this face for my next clients :)!

Our Dirty Hairy Child

As I walked around the house the other day putting miscellaneous toys, clothes and sippy cups back to their rightful place...I noticed Miao (my-o) was following me everywhere. This wasn't unusual behavior as he's a needy dog always seeking your approval and attention. However, he was whining and he NEVER whines. I turned on the vacuum and chased him around the house (not literally, but he does his best not to act whimpy when it's on) hoping he'd stop. No such luck...so what do I do? I open the sliding glass door and tell him to "GO PLAY!"

3 hours later he's still at the edge of our backyard in the woods looking at the ground as if the dirt was the most amazing thing he'd ever seen.

alas, the pictures from his adventure....and mine:

I love a wet lab :)

My Mom

I thought it only necessary to post a blog about my mom today...since she is my #1 blog stalker...(Surprise, this one's on YOU)! Happy Mother's Day :)

My mom gave me some old photos of herself a long time ago and I've always kept them in a little keepsake box. This is my favorite because I see so much of myself in her:

and this one just reminds me of myself and Gracie...

Thanks for letting me share. I'm going to start a project called Generations. I would like to have a storyboard made with portraits of my grandmother, mother, myself, and Gracie. I'll be sure and share when it's complete.

Happy Mother's Day!!

Family Session

Last night I spent the evening with the "G" family! You might remember Miss "S" from last fall. We started off at their home then visited North Strabane Park. The weather was beautiful again and there was not a cloud in the sky. I enjoyed capturing the kids together doing what they do best....being kids!

Check out this beautiful family:

Thanks to mom and dad for their endless entertainment going on behind me! Enjoy your little sneak peak:
